Gyokusen-an

ぎょくせんあん
A rest house overlooking Gyokusen'inmaru Garden, the Kaga lords' garden recreated in 2015, where matcha and a fresh sweet are served in a tatami room.

Gyokusen'inmaru Garden is a pond-stroll daimyō garden that Maeda Toshitsune began in 1634 and successive lords altered until the domain was abolished. It is thought to have served largely as the lord's private inner garden.

The height from the pond floor to the top tier of the stone walls is about 22 m. Lost once in the Meiji period, the garden was recreated in March 2015.

Gyokusen-an is a rest house overlooking the whole garden, with an information desk and rest area, and tea is served in its tatami room.
