Yokoso Japanese Gardens, based in Boskoop in the Netherlands, designs and builds Japanese gardens, makes Japanese woodwork and architecture, and sells stone lanterns and other ornaments imported from Japan. It describes itself as founded about a decade ago, and ties its mission of bridging cultures to the Dutch trading history with Japan at Dejima during the Edo period. It cites its network of Japanese advisors and suppliers as a key strength.
Its main tea-related product is the Igokochi Niwakoya garden house, designed as a smaller version of the tea house at Kōdai-ji in Kyoto. Standard inside dimensions are 260 x 260 x 300 cm; it can include a tokonoma, tokobashira, chigaidana and an engawa, and the roof can be kawara tile, shingles or planks. It is fully insulated for year-round use and built mainly of Western Red Cedar.
It is made in two phases: the whole building is first assembled in the workshop to check it, then taken apart, transported and re-erected on a prepared foundation. Dimensions and interior are adjustable; prices including VAT are published for placement in the Netherlands, with quotes for elsewhere. Its portfolio includes roji gardens with tea houses, making it a fit for anyone in Europe who wants a tea garden and tea house together.
Japanese rooms and garden tea houses are also offered under Sukiyado, a brand of the same company (Omloop 1, Boskoop).
