はっそうせき

A tea room at Konchi-in, a sub-temple of Nanzen-ji. The Agency for Cultural Affairs dates it to 1628 (early Edo): a three-mat daime room (Hassō-seki) with a preparation room, roofed with shingles and pantiles.
Known as a tea room in the taste of Kobori Enshū, it was designated an Important Cultural Property in 1936.
Konchi-in is open to visitors (¥500). Check with the temple in advance about viewing the Hassō-seki.
