Kōshō-an
Kōshō-an is a sukiya-style tea room completed in May 1974 with a donation from Wakayama native Matsushita Kōnosuke, to mark the garden restoration of 1973. Its name joins the 'kō' of Momijidani (Kōyōkei) with the 'shō' (pine) of Matsushita.
Roofed in copper over timber, it faces a moss-covered garden. The garden can be enjoyed from the room in every season, with Kishū tea and sweets and the sound of the stream.
It is booked privately by individuals and groups, from the city and beyond, for formal tea gatherings and lessons. Tea utensils are lent free of charge.
